Coils & Specialty Coils

Many metals and materials, such as silicon, have many different processes for heating and melting depending on the application and therefore can use either standard coils and more specialized coil designs. Inductotherm's design principals and proprietary custom extruded heavy wall coil tubing ensure the ultimate in reliability and efficiency.

Multi-Zone Coils

Multi-Zone Coils:
In graphite heating, maintaining the desired temperature profile within the susceptor is absolutely critical in order to achieve maximum productivity.

Precise power input to each zone of the susceptor is achieved by varying either or both the overall power level and the amount of time power is switched to a particular zone of the coil during each power distribution cycle of the system.

When matched with our VIP® Multi-Switch™ Power Supply System, coils can be designed for precise zoned temperature control.

We build most of the world's zoned induction heating coils used in the manufacturing of ultra high temperature advanced materials such as carbon carbon composites.

Specialty Coils

Specialty Coils:
Inductotherm can custom design a coil that meets whatever requirements your application demands, including coils for heating. Applications include round, rectangular and pancake style designs. Inductotherm can also design and manufacture specialty coils with custom designs for elbow heating.

Advanced Coil Insulation

Advanced Coil Insulation:
Coils built for the demanding requirements of vacuum applications are coated with Inducto-Flex™ 2™ coil insulation. Inducto-Flex™ 2™ is the next generation of innovative coil insulation technology.

While designed specifically to meet the most demanding aerospace industry vacuum casting requirements, this material is now being used in place of the original Inducto-Flex™ material for all applications.

It has strong mechanical properties that allow it to be durable, heat and abrasion resistant and highly flexible. This inherent flexibility allows it to move with the coil as it expands and contracts so that it resists cracking and splitting.
