Careers: Industrial Mechanic

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to Braze with overall good mechanical skills.

  • Good mechanical aptitude - hardware sizes, plumbing fittings, tools, proper size tips for brazing, know proper size soldering sticks, must be able to demonstrate good soldering skills.

  • Good basic math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and working with fractions.

  • Able to read measuring devices - rulers, tape measures, squares, levels, vernier and formulas.

  • Must be responsible in the handling and care of equipment and tools.

  • Must be regular in attendance and able & willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

  • Able to read, comprehend wire schematics and blueprints.

  • Must be willing to attend classes/training to improve basic skills and non-essential functions.

  • Will handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Non-essential Functions:

  • Able to operate overhead crane.

  • Able to drive forklift.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to distinguish between colors and have good perception.

  • Must be able to climb and stand for 8 hours.

  • Must be very coordinated (able to use both hands and feet to guide material).

  • Must be dexterous.

  • Must have good strength.

  • Must make us aware if you have a metal prosthesis or other metal body parts (due to inductive field).

Non-essential Physical Requirements:

  • The maximum weight to be lifted will be based on NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) guidelines based on specific lift conditions.
