Careers: Electrical Automation Design Engineer

Candidate should have a BSEE or BSME with 3+ year’s experience as a design engineer preferred. This position will include the design of systems for melting, coating and heat treating for various metals.

Essential Functions:

  • Familiar with all types of manufacturing processes (machine, welding, etc.).

  • Proficient with both standard and metric units of measure.

  • Must be able to read understand electrical schematics and mechanical prints.

  • Advanced experience with AutoCad, familiar with SolidWorks, FEA software and software programming fundamentals.

  • Strong background in mechanical engineering fundamentals including Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Machine Design, Fluid Dynamics.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously through the design, manufacturing, testing, installation and start-up phases.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license; able to travel domestic and internationally as needed. Valid passport required.

  • Must be in regular attendance, able to work any shift and extended hours as required.

  • Must be able to work independently, exercise good judgment and meet tight deadlines in a fast pace environment.

  • Should have the ability to interact with all levels of management.

  • Will handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Critical Technical Skills and Experience Include:

  • Experience in the design of electrical controls.

  • Experience in the field of electromagnetic.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to read printed word, write speak and understand English.

  • Must be able to traverse the floor of a plant in an industrial setting with various types of heavy machinery and overhead hoists in operation.

  • Must make us aware of any surgical implants, pins, braces or other devices that could be affected by induction fields.

  • Must be able to work in a hot harsh environment and able to wear protective clothing from molten metal splash and arc flash.

Non-Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The maximum weight to be lifted will be based on NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) guidelines based on specific lift conditions.
