Careers: Advertising/Marketing Intern

Candidate should be an organized, motivated, detail-oriented multi-tasker working towards, or having earned, a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or closely related field.

Essential Functions:

  • Various tasks will include most or all of the following: video production, graphic design, brochures, newsletters, logo production, web design and production, digital media, photography, administrative work, marketing and promotional items and other various projects as required.

  • Must have strong computer skills.  A basic knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign), LotusNotes and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are essential.

  • Oversee trade show preparations (registration, packing, shipping, etc.) and coordinate as required.

  • Create, design and update printed materials (sales, literature, promotional items, etc.). Create, design and update advertisements as required and interact with various publications to meet deadlines.

  • Must have excellent phone and communication skills.  Candidate should feel comfortable providing creative input/suggestions and able to express oneself clearly and persuasively.

  • Must be able to take initiative, exercise good judgment, assume responsibility without direct supervision and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

Non-Essential Requirements:

  • Copy writing for advertisements, literature, captions and articles may be required.  The ability to research topics and write technical articles as needed is a plus.

  • Organize, create and implement filing systems (both soft and hard copies) for record keeping and maintaining current libraries and databases as required.

  • Keep inventory of various items and occasionally manage the ordering and delivery of in-house sales and marketing materials, such as sales literature, promotional items and trade show supplies.

Non-Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel (must have a valid driver’s license).

  • Must be able to use public transportation, ie: plane, train, bus, etc.

  • Must disclose any surgical implants, pins, braces or other devices that could be affected by induction fields.

  • The maximum weight to be lifted will be based on NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) guidelines based on specific lift conditions.
